Jennifer Aggeler is a captionist who specializes in remote CART and/or online captioning, which is an assistive technology for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, (and deaf-blind people and/or individuals with Cochlear Implants) that provides instant text transcription of the spoken word.  

For the five and a half years before becoming a freelance captioner, she was employed by the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy & Referral Agency (DCARA) and headed DCARA's CaptionsOnline program.  During her employment with DCARA, she was the first hearing person to receive their "Staff of the Year Award" in 2003.  In 2005, she received their "Service Appreciation Award" in 2005.  Also, in 2003, Jennifer was published in the "Journal of Court Reporting" for work related to providing CART to deaf-blind people.

Jennifer is now self-employed and works with other captioning firms providing remote CART and captioning for a variety of events, workshops, staff meetings, teleconferences, lectures and classes. Although her specialty is remote captioning, she is also a consultant in technology for remote CART and captioning providers.
